Pressing on Tree Dressing Day

Updated: Dec 5, 2018

SCOG was invited to go to The Spinney at Little Bytham to help celebrate Tree Dressing Day on Nov 24th. We were helped in the apple pressing by Francois, one of the temporary volunteers in a local orchard. He recently retired from The National Forests Office in France and came to the Stamford area to learn more about local orchards.

He was recruited through WWOOF-UK - placing volunteers to work on organic farms and forests. So thank you to Francois and WWOOF for all your help with the pressing.

Tree Dressing Day coordinated by The Woodland Trust and others, particularly promotes the Tree Charter. SCOG is now a formal champion of the Tree Charter.
