Wassail 2024

To ensure a good forthcoming orchard harvest, and of course with a lot of fun, we had a good turn-out at our Wassail event in the Community orchard. The rain held off and we enjoyed dancing from the Rutland Morris Men, songs from Woven Cords and a story from Mark Fraser.

The word wassail comes from the Anglo-Saxon greeting Wæs þu hæl, meaning "be thou hale"—i.e., “be in good health”. So we wish good health to you and your fruit trees.

Great article in the Stamford Mercury!
