Setting up rootstock stools

  • Mar 10, 2020

A group of SCOG volunteers spent the morning planting rootstocks. We planted four different types of rootstocks (M26, MM106, MM111 and M25) for future grafting workshops and for grafting our unidentified apple trees. Old tyres were placed over each stool so as they grew we could fill up the tyres with sawdust leaving at least 5 cms. of shoot to continue growing.
